Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation on Sunday at 5 p.m. His address will come on the eve of Navratri, the day from which TPS tariff decreases will be introduced into play, the prices of a large number of products should drop. However, there is no official word on the subject of his speech in the evening.

Since his entry into office in 2014, the Prime Minister has addressed the Nation several times, often coinciding with major political decisions or national security events.

One of the most important recent speeches occurred on May 12, 2025, when he spoke of Operation Sindoor, the United States in India after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. His speech reaffirmed the Indian government’s commitment to national defense and rapid reprisals against threats.

Earlier, during the Pandemic COVID-19, he made a series of television announcements, especially on March 24, 2020, when he declared a national locking for three weeks, a decision aimed at reducing the spread of the virus.

It was followed by an extension announced on April 14, and later in May, it described a progressive plan to facilitate restrictions and revive economic activity.

In another national emergency moment, the Prime Minister was put online on March 12, 2019 to announce the air strikes of Balakot, which were carried out in response to the terrorist attack of Pulwama.

One of the most consecutive addresses came on November 8, 2016, when he announced the demonetization of 500 ₹ and 1,000 currency tickets.

Today’s address will be broadcast on Doordarshan as well as on Network 18 group channels.
