Couples in the thirties and more, she said, in particular to gravitate towards hiking, yoga, glamping, fishing and golf. This helps that their friends also want to celebrate “in a way that does not leave them lying around and exhausted at the end of the weekend,” she said.

Here is how some couples exchanged bacchanalies for a deposit during their baccalaureate and bachelor escapades.

Costa Rica

Spend a week at the surf camp

Gina Maruskin, 52 years old from Milford, Michigan, took seven friends to Surf Synergy, Jaco, Costa Rica, in February 2024 for a week of “Fun Girl Bonding” on surf boards. Members of his group, every 50 years, have stayed together in the bungalows, and each woman had a dedicated surf coach who provided a private lesson and a review of the videos of their progress and their technique every day. “We applaud and we cried each other, seeing himself getting up on the surfboard. It was such a beautiful link,” said Ms. Maruskin. When they were not in the waves, women participated in activities organized by the complex such as massages, yoga and a tropical forest hike. “We have come out of there to know each other in such a different way,” she said. The future bride appreciated her stay at the complex so much that she had her wedding there.

Colombia

Paragliding with friends

Angie Ramirez, 35, from New York, organized his Bachelorette party during a nine -day trip to Medellín, Colombia, where part of her family always lives, as a way to present his friends to her inheritance. “There is all this other person in me, speaking Spanish,” she said, “but it’s always me and my personality.” She added: “I wanted to share a piece of me that they don’t see often.” The seven group made a cultural visit on foot, rolled a cable car and sampered Ms. Ramirez’s favorite restaurants. They also visited the clandestine restaurant, where she and her fiancé, Moritz Becker, had their first appointment in Bumble. “It was special for my friends to live and know the place where the relationship started,” she said.

They also linked to an adventure. Ms. Ramirez arranged so that the group is paragliding, an activity she had appreciated in Colombia before, about an hour outside Medellín. Associated with an instructor, she said: “Each of us threw us from the mountain and slipped towards the small village at the bottom of the hill.”

Scotland

Diving apnea for supper

Dan Jackson, 33, from London, did not know what to expect when his best man, Doug Worboys, asked him to choose 12 friends for a mystery weekend last October. Arriving in an old picturesque area near Arisaig, on the west coast of Scotland, the group met a local guide, Matt Watterson, for a weekend of adventure on water and earth. They started by climbing the boat of Mr. Watterson, equipped with diving equipment, to learn to identify and collect scallops. They then transported lobsters of predefined traps and caught for the mackerel on the way back.
