Dave Wilson is a university football journalist. He previously worked at Dallas Morning News, San Diego Union-Tribune and Las Vegas Sun.

Auburn moved his 2026 home match with Baylor at the Mercedes-Benz stadium in Atlanta as part of an agreement with AFLAC Kickoff Game aimed at offering Nile opportunities to Tigers players, a first in university football for neutral on-site matches.

The Peach Bowl, in coordination with the Aflac game, will offer promotional appearance opportunities to Auburn players to promote the sale of tickets and additional events.

“Whenever we have the possibility of improving the ability of Auburn students to gain a third party compensation, we will seize this opportunity,” said sports director John Cohen. “The visibility of playing on the national scene against an opponent of Power 4 in one of the main matches on site neutral in the country will benefit not only to our students financially, but will also improve their brand.”

Publisher’s choice

Baylor and Auburn met in the first game of the season of this year for each team, the Tigers winning him 38-24 in Waco, Texas. Next year’s match was initially played in Auburn as a second home game.

Auburn will receive an allocation of 20,645 tickets for the match, while Baylor will receive the 3,000 standard sec tickets reserved for visiting teams. AFLAC Kickoff Game will sell the remaining inventory.

This match will only mark the sixth time that Baylor and Auburn have been meeting since 1954. The series is currently 2-2-1, including the victory of the Tigers this year.
