Ben Baby covers the Bengals of Cincinnati for ESPN. He joined the company in July 2019. Before ESPN, he worked for various newspapers in Texas, more recently at Dallas Morning News where he covered university sports. It offers daily coverage of Bengals for ESPN.com, while appearing on Sportscenter, ESPN NFL programs and ESPN radio programs. Originally from Grapevine, Texas, he graduated from the University of Northern Texas with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. He is a professor of auxiliary journalism at the Southern Methodist University and member of the Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA).

Cincinnati – Bengal coach Zac Taylor does not give up one of the most important tasks of the team.

Taylor confirmed on Monday that he would retain his role as team game game after the Bengals suffered their third consecutive defeat, a 37-24 home defeat against the Strait Lions on Sunday. Cincinnati only gathered 3 points in the first three quarters for the third consecutive week. This prompted Taylor to assume responsibility for his part of the team difficulties.

Taylor said he would continue the double capacity he has held since his care as a team-and-chief coach in 2019.

“I feel very comfortable,” said Taylor. “This is a just question. We are scoring 3 points in three games in the first half. I understand that perfectly. But for the moment, it will stay the same.”

Cincinnati has no departure from the quarter-Arrière Joe Burrow since he suffered an injury to the toe toe in the week 2 against the Jacksonville jaguars. Jake Browning began the last three games that coincided with the worst team of the team in the mandate of Taylor’s seven years. At one point in Sunday’s defeat against Detroit, the team followed 28-3 before finally scoring three affected in the fourth quarter to make the game a little more competitive.

Taylor said that in his role as playy, he relies on others throughout the offense for having collected the operation of the unit.

“I count on them as much as I think that any game game is based on someone else,” said Taylor.

It is common for the league head coaches to occupy the two roles of a team. But recently, there was a precedent for these titles to be divided. Tennessee Titans coach Brian Callahan, who was Taylor’s offensive coordinator from 2019 to 2023, recently rendered his calculation functions towards another staff member in the middle of the bad start of the season of his team. The Titans won their first game of the season on Sunday, a 22-21 victory against the Cardinals of Arizona.

Through five games, Cincinnati (2-3) ranks near each major statistical category. Bengals are 30th in points per journey (1.52), 31st yards per game (4.3) and equality for 28th in offensive points per game (17).

“Find more opportunities for our game leaders to get the ball and find ways to get them easy touches that they can lead to the productivity of our attack,” said Taylor when asked for ways to improve as a game game. “We were not productive enough. I am not worried about statistics right now.

Although this aspect of the Cincinnati offensive is cemented, the quarter-back situation remains uncertain before Sunday’s match in Green Bay (2-1-1). When asked if Browning will start this weekend, Taylor said it would be assessed in the days preceding Wednesday, the first training of the week’s team.

Bengal’s offensive coordinator Dan Pitcher said he had a long conversation with Browning on Monday after the quarter-Arrière launched three interceptions against the Lions, giving him a total of eight in the season.

“You want to see him succeed,” said Pitcher. “All at the same time, it is a matter based on results, and you know that the room must be better. He knows it, and you just try to help him cross.”

But Pitchcher added that offensive misfortunes also extend beyond Browning.

“We have to be ready to play our best football,” said Pitcher. “We collectively, we did not approach it.”
