The team behind the acclaimed drama of 2022 The eight mountains – The Italian star Luca Marinelli and the Belgian filmmakers Felix van Groengenen and Charlotte Vandermeersch – are rehabilitating for Leave loveA romantic drama that Van Groeningen will direct and Vandermeersch will play, alongside Marinelli.
Vandernemesch and Marinelli play a couple whose relationship is thrown into crisis when the truth of a case goes back to the surface. Van Groeningen heads for a script which he co-written with Vandernemesch and Anne Paulicevich. The shot is currently underway in Belgium.

Vandermeersch and Van Groeningen co-written and co-produced an Italian drama The eight mountainswith Marinelli. The film was created in Cannes in 2022, where it won the Grand Jury Prize. Vandermeersch also contributed to the script for the escape nominated to the Oscars of Van Groenengen The broken circle ventilation (2012).
Marinelli recently resumed her role as an immortal fighter Nicky, alongside Charlize Theron, in Netflix The old guard 2 And played the Italian dictator Benito Mussolini in the limited series of Joe Wright Mussolini: Son of the century.
Van Groeningen, Vandermeersch, Hans Everaert, Mario Gianani, Lorenzo Mieli and Lorenzo Gangarrossa produce Leave love.
Mubi said he would distribute the film in key territories but has not provided details. The match factory will manage world sales.
