Gemini for Home is the umbrella term for the renewed effort of Google Smart Home with several distinct aspects: application, camera and voice assistant. From what the company has shared so far, here is when Gemini for the house takes place.

These features are available for all (free) users:
- Quick search: You can now quickly search for devices and automation directly from the search bar. As you type, the relevant results and suggestions will appear instantly.
- Simple peripheral requests: You can now ask questions about your devices. Simply say: “What lights are on?” Or “is the front door locked?”
- Device control in real time: You can now give simple commands like “close all blinds”, and it will follow instantly.
Functionality that requires Google Home Premium Standard:
- Automation creation: You can now create automation using natural language in Ask Home. You can also access Help Me Create in the Automations tab of the Google Home application to create automation.
- Recurring auto: “Turn off all the lights whenever we are absent.”
- Unique AUTOS: “Later in the evening at 7 pm, heat the living room and play our favorite music.”
- Registered information: You can ask the house to remember things about you or your cleaning, like your favorite color, to personalize your experience.
Requires Google Home Premium Advanced:
- AI descriptions and AI notifications: Your camera events will now have detailed legends. Instead of simply “person” or “package”, the legends will tell you more about what is happening in the clip. You will also get these detailed descriptions in your camera notifications.
- Search for video history: Find specific events recorded by your cameras by asking questions like “Is the dog released today?”
- Brief from the house: Receive a daily summary each evening from the most important events captured by your cameras.
These features will not be available for ADT + subscribers at the moment.
Characteristics of the AI ​​camera are actively deployed for advanced Google Home Premium subscribers with the new Nest Cam Outdoor (2nd generation), Nest Cam Indo (3rd generation) and Nid Doorbell (3rd generation) in the following countries / languages:

This takes place as a software update that could take several days to reach all eligible subscribers. “Gemini for home camera features include:
- AI descriptionsWhat a process has recorded camera events to provide shorter and long detailed descriptions of what happened.
- For example, instead of the usual label “activity or animal detected”, the description of AI can be “the dog hollows in the garden”.
- IA notificationswhich provide short versions of AI descriptions in the notifications of camera events, which facilitates seeing what happened at a glance.
- Home Briefwhich gives an overview of what happened at home every day.

The Gemini for the domestic voice assistant, or the replacement of Google Assistant, will begin to deploy for users in the United States who join the “Early Access” program from October 28.
