IKE Turner Jr., a winning producer of a Grammy who was the son of Ike and Tina Turner, died. He was 67 years old.
Tina’s niece, Jacqueline Bullock, told TMZ that Ike Turner Jr. died on Saturday in a Los Angeles hospital after kidney failure. She also said he had struggled against heart problems for years and had a stroke last month.
She also shared a statement with The New York Post: “It is with great sadness that we announce the death of my cousin, Ike Turner Jr.” Junior “was more than a cousin for me, but rather a brother, when we grew up in the same famous together. Like the son of Tina and Ike Turner, during his earlier, his talents were obvious because there was not an instrument that he did not want to play. insisted that he breaks down his battery kit after each training.
Bullock then noted that IKE Turner Jr. continued to direct Bolic Sound Studios, the recording studios founded by his father, Ike Turner. He became a sound engineer and won a Grammy for the best album of traditional blues in 2007 for his father Risin ‘with the blues.
His sister-in-law, Afida Turner, also published a tribute on Instagram: “Rest in peace Ike Jr: U was incredible his brother-in-law I am happy to speak to you on a phone before leaving love u rip 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻”
IKE Turner Jr. was born in 1958 from IKE Turner and the former Lorraine Taylor. He was then adopted by Tina Turner with her brother Michael. Tina died in 2023, while Ike Sr. died in 2007.
