A Ukrainian reservoir is seen near the front line area in the middle of the Russian-Ukraine war in Bakhmut, Ukraine, April 02.

The Ukrainian army has reported few changes in the front lines, but heavy fire from the Russian forces in various parts of the front line in the Donetsk region.

The General Staff said that more than 45 enemy attacks had been pushed during the last day, emphasizing Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Mariinka.

He said there were 17 air strikes and more than 20 strikes by several launching rocket systems.

“In the direction of Bakhmut, the enemy is trying to take total control of the city of Bakhmut and continues to catch it,” said the general staff.

To the west of the city, Ukrainian defense forces have pushed around 20 enemy attacks, according to general staff.

Oleksandr Syrskyi, commander of the Ukrainian terrestrial forces, posted on Telegram that in Bakhmut, he had met “soldiers and commanders who destroyed the myth of the invincibility of Wagner fighters and Russian paratotle”.

“The enemy is weakening and tries to hide his failures with new counterfeits on the capture of Bakhmut,” said Syrskyi.

Syrskyi referred to the possibility of a future counter-offensive, saying that “the movement before our entire army depends on what each soldier is currently on their front section”.

Some of the most intense fights are northwest and west of the city of Donetsk – while the Russians are pursuing the efforts of several months to dislodge the Ukrainian defenses in Avdiivka and Mariinka. The General Staff said that twenty assaults had been pushed back.

“There are also operational successes of our soldiers in the Donetsk region. Our soldiers took up positions. They took a more strategic and favorable position, “said Oleksii Dmytrashkivskyi, military spokesperson in this area.

He also noted that the Russian special forces had been introduced in the region.

“The enemy is trying to attack our positions between Avdiivka and Marinka. These attempts do not stop. It should be noted that the enemy has undergone quite significant losses,” said DmyTrashkivskyi.

He also claimed that the Russians “did not have the same amount of equipment and, as they say themselves, they follow a” diet “of munitions for attacks.”

Video on social networks has shown that the two parties have embarked on heavy fire in the Avdiivka region, which the Russians surrounded on three sides.

Denis Pushilin, the leader of the People’s Republic of Donetsk self -proclaimed, said that the Russian forces were still advancing in the direction of Avdiivka.

“It is always prematurely to talk about the encirclement, but the situation is being created, if it is not critical, then extremely difficult for the enemy … After cleaning Kamianka, our units evolve further. There are difficulties both with the field, which must also be overcome, and there are also similarities with weather conditions. But these difficulties are mutual – both for the enemy and for us, ”said Pushilin.
