6 people arrested in Toronto for selling unlicensed cannabis and magic mushrooms

Toronto police have arrested six people linked to a popular weed dispensary that involved the illegal sale of cannabis and psilocybin products in the city.
On November 13, police opened an investigation at “1Tonamara Cannabis Boutique,” located on Fort York Blvd near Front Street West. It is alleged that the store was unlicensed and unregulated by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.
On Monday, investigators obtained a criminal code and a search warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
Officers arrested six people and seized various goods, including what police called a large amount of cannabis in dried form, pre-rolled joints, oils, hash and edibles and psilocybin in bar form. of chocolate.
Police said a small number of proceeds of crime were also seized during the search of the store.
Investigators have identified the six as Omar Sloley, 44, of Sutton West, Ont., Banuka Premathilake, 36, of Toronto, Emilia Mahdiyan, 31, of Toronto, Zoe Currie, 29, of Toronto, Jhon Ayala, 23, of Toronto, and Delisha Lodge, 40, of Midland, Ont.
All six faced multiple offences, including possession for the purpose of sale and trafficking. They will appear in court on February 1, 2023.
