A young girl has been reunited with her family after being found wandering near the underground tracks in Scarborough overnight.
Toronto police said the four-year-old girl was discovered walking near the tracks by a TTC employee around 1:30 a.m. Thursday.
« It could have been a very horrific situation, » police told CityNews, adding that the child was located shortly before a subway train passed.
Paramedics were called to check on the child and determined that she was fine.
Officers found her parents and the girl was reunited with her family.
Police suspect the girl woke up in the middle of the night, managed to get out of her house, then wandered off. An investigation into how she ended up near the tracks is ongoing.
