24-year-old man charged with sexually abusing young girl over 5-year period: Brandon police

A 24-year-old man has been charged with sexually abusing a young girl in the past five years, according to police in Brandon, Manitoba.
The man was arrested on Wednesday, following an investigation into abuse that police say occurred between the spring of 2017 and the spring of this year, a Brandon Police Department news release said Thursday.
The abuse began when the child was five years old and continued until the age of nine.
The man, whom police have not named, has been charged with sexual assault, sexual interference and invitation to sexual touching.
He was released and will appear in court on December 5, police said.
CBC News contacted Brandon police for more information, but the duty staff sergeant was unaware of the details of the case and could not comment.
