24 Sussex: No injuries after tour bus hits gate of official residence

No one was injured after a tour bus hit a door outside 24 Sussex Drive in Ottawa, the prime minister’s official residence.
An amphibious bus known as « Amphibus » collided with the gate just after 9am on Wednesday.
Ottawa paramedics say no one was injured. Ottawa police are on the scene and a police spokesperson says no one has been arrested or charged at this time.
24 Sussex Dr. is one of the main stops on the Amphibus tour, according to operator Lady Dive Tours.
Owner Etienne Cameron told CTV News Ottawa by email that there were no passengers on the bus at the time and the driver was fine.
Cameron said a morning check is carried out each day on the bus before any tours.
While 24 Sussex Drive has long been the official residence of the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau does not live there because the house is in dire need of renovations. A recent report prepared by the National Capital Commission, which oversees federal properties in the nation’s capital, says the aging home needs more than $36 million in repairs.
