1 person seriously injured in Toronto apartment fire

A person has been taken to hospital after a fire broke out on the 14th floor of a Toronto skyscraper in The Junction.

Toronto firefighters were called to the apartment, located in the Landsdowne Avenue and Dupont Street area, just before 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Toronto police have confirmed that one person was inside a unit at the time of the fire. The victim was located and rescue measures were taken.

The victim’s current condition is unclear.

Northbound Landsdowne is closed in the meantime and motorists are advised to seek alternate routes.
